DaliWaterGrass is the perfect place to live. There are so many great things to do, and being only 45 minutes from St. Petersburg, day-long outings are the perfect option. The Salvador Dali Museum is full of one-of-a-kind pieces by Dali that will inspire the artist in you.

Kids can get especially involved by attending the Dillydally with Dali events. These take place weekdays, 10 am- 5:30 pm, Saturdays, 11:45 am- 4:30 pm, and Sundays, 12:30- 4 pm. Here children can discover the creative world of Dali in the Education Classrooms with stories, puzzles, and activities which educate and encourage family interaction. The kids will be having so much fun, they won’t even realize they are learning about art. Saturdays also feature fun games, puzzles, and unique arts & crafts. The Dillydally with Dali program is free.

Another fun outing at the museum is Breakfast with Dali for families. Join the staff an hour before the museum is open to the public and while the ghost of Salvador Dali still lingers! This also includes a tour expressly designed for kids ages 5-12. The tour is interactive and is led by a Dali docent who has picked Dali paintings and other works which specially appeal to children. After the tour, enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet as well as hands-on activities. Pre-purchase is required for this event. The cost is $21 per adult, $10 per child (6-12); members admission: $10 per adult, $5 per child. For more information on the Breakfast with Dali see the Salvador Dali events page.

According to one Trip Advisor user, “Dali admirers, we expected to see a few ‘melting clocks.’ What we didn’t expect was the range and scope of the breathtaking works that greeted us-particularly the magical ‘secret picture paintings’ (my 4 year olds words) including Homage to Rothko and The Hallucinogenic Toreador and my 7 year old’s favorite Portrait of Alice Cooper’s Brain. It was as much a joy to admire the works as it was to watch other’s responses to it! And the building in which theses treasures are displayed is in itself an elegant, Dali-esque sculpture. Surrounded by all this beauty and grace, the four of us- 7 years old and 4 years old included- have possibly never had so much fun at, nor gotten so much pleasure from an art museum or gallery.”

The museum is comprised of 96 oil paintings, along with a section of drawings, fine prints, photographs, videos and Surreal Objects by Salvador Dali within the combined 20,000 square feet state-of-the-art gallery spaces.

Along with the breathtaking art, step outside to enjoy views of the Tampa Bay and enjoy the garden labyrinth.
