At WaterGrass in Wesley Chapel, Florida, we are celebrating the grand opening of Phase II and several incredible new fully furnished and professionally decorated models. Since each model is so thoughtfully planned, we have decided to interview the builders and designers about the work behind each breathtaking design. Today we would like to feature the Celebration by Ryland Homes. We sat down with Cheryl Loeb of Builders’ Design, who worked with Ryland on the interior design of this beautiful model.
What is your favorite aspect of the model floor plan?
My favorite aspect of the model floor plan is the open design of the first floor. Not only is it perfect for entertaining friends, the partial walls between the Living/Dining Room and Family Room create a visual divide for intimate family spaces.
What is your favorite room in the model?
My favorite room in the model is the Master Bedroom. The palette is soothing and is balanced with stronger accents to create interest and add contrast. The architectural detail on the ceiling is reflective of the design elements in the room and helps make this a strong and cohesive space.
What was the basis of your inspiration for the interior design?
My inspiration for the interior design of this model was from a national trending company who works closely with Builders’ Design to develop design direction based on buyer demographic studies. In this case it is for Gen Now and the style is modern.
How did the architecture inspire your selections?
The open plan dictated that we use a muted color palette to flow from space to space. This created a soft backdrop for stronger accent patterns such as the kitchen tile, drapery panels, and family room area rug.
Which accent pieces do you find most interesting?
The two furniture pieces I find most interesting are the consoles in the foyer and family room. Gen Now uses the word “character” when describing what they select for their home. Not only do these pieces best fit that description—they are also very memorable.
Tell us more about the most distinct finish, selection, or option included in the model.
The most distinct selection I included in the model is the ceramic tile backsplash in the home. We thought outside of the box and rotated the linear tile design vertical. This created a statement, especially contrasted against the white cabinetry.
Do you have any decorating tips for those looking to enhance their home?
When decorating a home, it’s important to start with something you love and build around it. Also at the onset of starting a decorating project, it’s very important to begin with a plan and make sure that color palettes carry from space to space, especially in open plans.
What is your decorating background?
I have is a B.S. in Interior Design. I worked in the residential field for several years as an Interior Designer; however my passion is working as a Model Home Merchandiser/Designer with Builders’ Design. I’ve been with the company for fifteen years.
