The Ryland Homes Sandpiper fully decorated model recently opened at WaterGrass. We sat down with the model decorator from Builders Design, Jessica Sauble, to talk about how she made the model selections, what inspired her design, and her decorating tips.
What is your decorating background?
Builders Design is an established interior design firm with a focus on model merchandising. We have a staff of qualified designers with ASID, NCIDQ, IIDA, and other various credentials.
What is your favorite aspect of the Sandpiper floor plan?
The open floor plan on the main level of the Sandpiper model demonstrates the ideal “hub of the home” space for the family living in this community. The open feel and zone proximity make this space a must have!
What is your favorite room in the Ryland model?
Our favorite room would be the kitchen. The outstanding layout with spacious island and storage make this space very appealing. The rich finishes really demonstrate the depth of the space and the level of design.
What was the basis of your inspiration for the interior design?
At Builders Design we start every design with demographic research specific to every model home community. The color palate and design style are generated directly from our trend resource guide.
Which accent pieces do you find most interesting?
Metallic painted pieces add great depth to a room especially when paired with rich wood tones.
We love the interesting paint colors and designs. Do you have any painting advice?
We recommend being bold when making paint selections! Paint is the most cost effective way to change the feel of a room and create a great energy. Capitalize on this aspect and select saturated colors and even pair them together in a stripe treatment for added interest on a focal wall.
Do you have any decorating tips for those looking to enhance their home?
We suggest making your space personal and allow the design to reflect your lifestyle. Mix and match furniture pieces and maximize the function of every room to get the most value out of your living space.
