PHCCWe’ve written a lot recently about all of the exciting new growth and development in the Wesley Chapel area—a great reason to check out WaterGrass, an exciting new resort-style community in Wesley Chapel. Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel is opening this fall, the Cypress Creek Outlet Mall is projected to open by 2014. And in addition to the economic growth these two will provide to the area, Pasco Hernando Community College is currently constructing their newest full service site in Wesley Chapel— the Porter Campus at Wiregrass Ranch.

The school has been under construction since last summer and is scheduled to open Spring 2014. The campus is being built adjacent to Wiregrass Ranch High School. The campus will offer:

  • The latest high tech trends in higher education
  • Business and healthcare programs
  • General education classes

It has potential to become PHCC’s busiest campus, due to the Pasco County population boom (including, very possibly, you, a potential WaterGrass homeowner). An article in the New Tampa Neighborhood News about the new campus construction highlighted the new campus’s importance in stimulating Wesley Chapel’s already impressive growth. We especially appreciated this quote:

“Wesley Chapel is definitely an economic engine for Pasco and New Tampa,” says Mulieri, a retired former PHCC professor. “The campus will be a catalyst for growth and development. Businesses need an educated workforce and PHCC can definitely play an important part in providing this.”

The campus renderings are impressive. We look forward to watching this future community college for our residents take shape.
